Charge lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries for electric vehicles correctly.

June 19, 2023 | EV Charging | 3660 |

Proper charging of lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries in electric vehicles is crucial for maintaining their effectiveness. Choosing a scientific and fair charging method is important to improve battery maintenance. Incorrect charging can lead to reduced capacity, shortened lifespan, and overcharge. The correct method ensures full charging of lithium-ion batteries.

Tips for charging lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles:
1. Follow standard charging procedures, even for the first three times.
2. If the battery is over-discharged while driving, charge it immediately.
3. Stop charging for 1-2 hours after the charger indicator turns green.
4. Do not charge the battery in hot weather or immediately after driving in the sun.
5. There is no need to activate the battery in any special way as it will naturally activate while driving and has no memory effects.

Properly charge lead-acid batteries correctly:

  1. Choose the original charger to reduce battery loss.
  2. Place the battery in an open ventilated place when charging.
  3. Don’t knock the charger with foreign objects during charging.
  4. Charge the battery on the day it is used..
  5. Don’t wait until the battery runs out to short-circuit the battery.
  6. A fully charged battery should not be used for a long time, and it should be charged once a month.
  7. Daily charging will cause the battery to enter a circulating state, and the life of the lead-acid battery will be prolonged.

Proper use of lithium-ion batteries and correct charging methods are crucial for the service life and safety of electric vehicle batteries, which include lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries. Lithium-ion battery technology is currently mature.
